Telepathy Applications, Benefits, and Negative Effects

Telepathy is the purported vicarious transmission of information from one person’s mind to another’s without using any known human sensory channels or physical interaction. The term was first coined in 1882 by the classical scholar Frederic W. H. Myers, a founder of the Society for Psychical Research (SPR), and has remained more popular than the earlier expression thought-transferenceTelepathy experiments have historically been criticized for a lack of proper controls and repeatability. There is no good evidence that telepathy exists, and the topic is generally considered by the scientific community to be pseudoscience. However, many of us do experience it most of the time. Siddha Spirituality of Swami Hardas Life System although is based on the energy methods, it has some soft corners for telepathy because Navnath and other sages had a miracle power of telepathy for communicating with each other. Let us know and experience it.

Who did use Telepathy?

Let me list a few examples from Hindu texts and books:

  • Bhagavad Gita: The conversation between Krishna and Arjuna was perceived by Vyasa, who wrote Gita. Sanjaya gave a live commentary of the war to Dritharashtra through the gift of Tele ‘Vision’ granted by Vyasa.
  • Search in secret India: Paul Brunton talks of a Yogi of South India who would converse with his teacher in the Himalayas through telepathy.
  • Autobiography of a Yogi: Sriyukteshwar Giri gives the telepathic command to two of his students (Paramahansa Yogananda and another) to test their abilities to perceive it. Only Paramahansa Yogananda gets it and goes to the train station as commanded by Guru.
  • Apprenticed to a Himalayan Yogi: Sri M’s Guru and his great Guru often indulged in Telepathic communication. Sri M’s master gave him telepathic suggestions as well.
  • The Journey Home: Sri Radhanath Swami while meditating in Asia was told to go to India by a voice, while his friend meditating in another place was told to go to Israel.
  • Among the Navnathas, Macchindranath, His disciple Gorakshanath and other Nathas also used to communicate with each other by effectively using Telepathy.

Telepathic Communication Between Two Persons

What is Telepathy?

Telepathy is communication between two minds without using sensory perceptions. This can be done by practice, practice, and practice only. Tele means “distant” and Pathos or -Patheia means feeling, perception, passion, affliction, and experience.

How capable is Telepathy?

Users can perceive and interact with the mind, consciousness, and thoughts of themselves or others using their minds, thus being able to read and sense another person’s thoughts, communicate with them mentally, and a plethora of other capabilities through non-physical means.

Telepathy has three common telepathic categories:

  • Communication, is the ability to transmit information from one mind to another,
  • Perception is the ability to receive information with one’s mind, and
  • Manipulation is the ability to influence the mind of others to varying degrees.

The most advanced telepaths are not only capable of interacting with the minds or spirits of others, but with reality itself in various ways, tapping into psychic/astral energies, extending their senses/perception and even their very consciousness beyond the limits of their bodies, and potentially even projecting their power into the physical plane.

The invention of Telepathy in western civilization

According to historians such as Roger Luckhurst and Janet Oppenheim, the origin of the concept of telepathy in Western civilization can be traced to the late 19th century and the formation of the Society for Psychical Research. As the physical sciences made significant advances, scientific concepts were applied to mental phenomena (e.g., animal magnetism), hoping that this would help understand paranormal phenomena. The modern concept of telepathy emerged in this context.

Psychical researcher Eric Dingwall criticized SPR founding members Frederic W. H. Myers and William F. Barrett for trying to “prove” telepathy rather than objectively analyze whether or not it existed.

The law of Telepathy

It is a supreme law whereby one soul may reach and minister unto another soul. Also, it is spirit manifested thru thought waves. It is magnetism spiritualized, is a mystical wonder of spiritual manifestation, inspires visions, dreams, and premonitions, and thru the vibration of waves, thoughts give universal communion, and soul companionship, to the children of Light. To use the law, sit in Silence, relaxed. Summon a mental picture of the person you wish to reach. Get clearly as possible the actual presence in your mind. Then begin to send the wave thoughts by repeating impressively to yourself, or aloud, the message of your code. Never try to do this when tired, exhausted, or excited.

Think intently about the message and your desire to reach the mind of the person you wish to aid. Students should practice both sending and receiving Telepathic messages and influences daily. Never think that the will, condition, or temperament of the person to whom they are directed, will retard, obstruct or destroy your work. Act in Supreme command. Put all the intense force of your WILL into your wave thoughts, magnetic ethers will be your messengers. You will likely get a direct response in a wave unison, or it may come later after your work is done. The student should bear in mind also that they may and should develop original work, and make new and personal codes. The purpose of codes is to unify the wave motion and keep the mind intense. Beware of selfish purpose, revenge, and hate; these are the Destroying Angel, sure to return to you.

Why use Telepathy?

Telepathy can help during those times when you don’t know what to say or how to say it. Maybe you fear of being unheard or rejected. Maybe it doesn’t feel right to pick up the phone with your ex, but you still want to say what’s in your heart.

“It’s not always possible to say the things we need or want to say to someone in our material world,” says Mystic Michaela, an aura reader, and podcast host. “Taking the time to do this telepathically allows the soul identities and the higher selves to get involved in order to deliver these messages. Profound connections, forgiveness, and even closure can be completed in a telepathic conversation that can’t always be realistic in face-to-face ones.”

If you’re nervous, feel silly, or feel like you’re going to get it wrong, follow celestial mentor and energy healer Andrea Donnelly’s advice and see telepathy as a natural extension of your human abilities.

“My family often called it our ‘little voice,'” she says. “I find it helpful for beginners to think of it like a sixth sense or another language you were born with and just need to remember. It’s like a psychic telephone network that connects you to everyone and everything, including other people, plants, animals, and the stars.”

The more you open up to the possibility of telepathy, says Donnelly, the more you will start to notice “the messages from your spirit guides and ancestors, and the synchronicities or coincidences that have always been running through your life. If you can tap into this way of communicating, your life and relationships can shift enormously.”

How to practice Telepathy?

First part: Focusing thoughts

Tune out physical senses

Try playing white noise through headphones and wearing blackout goggles. Shifting attention away from your physical perceptions might allow you to focus more deeply on sending the telepathic message.

You and the receiver should both try tuning out your senses. Sensory deprivation might help you each concentrate on the message.

Stretch muscles or try doing yoga

Trying to send a telepathic message requires a lot of mental focus, so try to become physically and mentally relaxed. Regular stretching and practicing yoga can help you learn how to put yourself in a focused, relaxed state.

When you prepare to send a telepathic message, try stretching your legs, arms, and back. Breathe in as you move into a pose, then exhale slowly as you stretch for 15 or 20 seconds. As you stretch, visualize all your tension leaving your body.

Meditate to calm the mind

Wear loose-fitting clothes and sit upright in a comfortable position. Inhale and exhale slowly, and do your best to clear your mind of unwanted thoughts. Imagine scattered, random thoughts leaving your mind as you exhale.
  • Do your best to focus your mind on a single thought. Try meditating for at least 20 minutes a day. With practice, it should get easier to focus your mind.
  • Once you’re in a calm, focused state, you’re ready to try sending a telepathic message. Keep in mind that both the sender and receiver of the telepathic message should relax and clear their minds.

Second part: Sending a Telepathic Message

Visualize the person receiving a message

Close your eyes, and picture the receiver as clearly as possible. Try to imagine that they are sitting or standing right in front of you. See details with your mind’s eye, such as the person’s eye color, weight, height, length of hair, and the way they sit or stand.
  • If you are far away from the receiver, it might be helpful to look at a picture of them before you begin visualizing them.
  • As you build your mental image and send it to the receiver, they should relax and focus on being open to the message. Ask them to clear their mind and imagine you in front of them with as much detail as possible.

Imagine how it feels to communicate

Call to mind the feelings you experience when you interact with a person face-to-face. Feel these emotions as if the person was actually in your presence. Focus on these feelings, and believe that you are creating a connection with the other person.

Focus on a simple image or word

When you’re just starting out, stick with something simple, such as a nearby object. Visualize it with as much detail as possible, and focus your mind solely on it. Concentrate on what it looks like, what it’s like to touch it, and how it makes you feel.

For instance, imagine an apple. See a particular apple as clearly as possible in your mind’s eye. Imagine its taste and the feeling of biting into it. Focus your thoughts solely on the apple.

Transmit your message

After forming a clear mental image, imagine the object traveling from your mind into the receiver. Visualize yourself face-to-face with the receiver, and say to them, “Apple,” or whichever thought you’re transmitting. In your mind’s eye, see the look of realization on their face as they understand what you’re telling them.
  • Keep in mind there’s a difference between being focused and straining. Concentrate on the mental image, but stay relaxed.
  • Once you’ve sent the thought, release it from your mind, and don’t think about it anymore. Imagine that you’ve given it away to the receiver and are no longer holding onto it.

Ask the receiver to write down what comes to their mind

Once you’ve sent the message, the receiver should remain relaxed and open until they sense that thought has entered their mind. They should then write down whatever has come to their mind.

Before checking in with the receiver, you should also write down the thought you were trying to send. This can help you stay objective when you compare your results.

Compare results with one another

When you’re both ready, you and the receiver should show each other what you’ve written. Don’t get discouraged if you’re not successful, especially at first. Take some time to clear your mind, and then try again with a different image.

Don’t get down on yourself if you’re not able to send a clear telepathic message. Just try to have fun while you try!

Third part: Practicing with a partner

Take turns trying to send and receive messages

Switch up your roles as you practice, and see if you have more success with one or the other. Maybe you’ll find that you’re better at receiving messages, and your friend is better at sending them.

Keep in mind it’s helpful to practice with someone you trust, like a close friend or relative.

Try playing a card game

Take five unique cards, such as playing cards or cards with symbols on them. With your partner in a separate location, pick a card at random. Relax and calm your mind, then focus your thoughts solely on sending the card’s image to your friend.

Have your partner calm their mind and try to sense your message. When they feel an image has come to mind, have them write down the card you sent, then check your results.

Draw an image, then send it to your partner

Try drawing a shape or simple combination of shapes, like a circle inside a triangle. Focus your thoughts on the shape, and visualize the image traveling from your mind to your partner’s. When they sense that they’ve received the message, have them draw whatever shape has entered their mind.

Alternatively, someone else could draw an image and show it to the sender, who would then try to transmit it to the receiver.

Keeping a telepathy journal to track progress

Each time you try to communicate telepathically, write down the details of your attempt. Note who the sender and receiver were, what the transmitted image was, and whether or not you were successful. A journal might help you find ways of refining your abilities.

Even if an attempt was unsuccessful, note any promising details. For instance, if the message was “apple” and your friend wrote down “red” or “fruit,” that’s a great sign!

How to Practice Telepathy with Meditation

Methods of Telepathy

This step can be a tricky one because it depends from person to person. You can use the visualization method or the infamous “Just do it” method. I am not going to mention other ways because those two are the ones I recommend due to their level of simplicity and effectiveness.

Visualization method

Visualize an empty room with a pond in the middle. It is a clear water pond. Every time you get a thought the water turns dark; no thoughts mean crystal clear water and a lot of thoughts mean a dark and impossible to see the bottom of the pond.

Now ask yourself the following questions:

What, who, and why. For example, if you are practicing with Hall of Ice shapes and colors you would ask yourself, “What is Hall of ice sending to me in this shapes and colors practice?” You have successfully identified your target, your objective, and the possibility of what you might receive or even send. You can use the same questions to identify what you need. How does the pond analogy apply to all this? When you are receiving, the pond will act as the reflector of your target’s sent object. When sending, the pond acts as the reflector of your target. If the water is clear, the reflection is visible. When the water is dark, no reflection can happen.

Just do it method

This method can be a bit more complicated for beginners for the simple reason that you might not know -how- to do it. Even when you don’t know the -how-, you will discern with practice what is right and what is wrong.

Practical applications of Telepathy

Telepathy has many practical applications in daily life. Consider the following few examples:

Come back right away

A young couple rented an apartment in a new neighborhood. One day, the husband went out with friends. While the wife was alone at home, she suddenly felt a terrible pain in her stomach. There was no cell phone yet at that time, no internet, or social media. She did not know anybody in the neighborhood.

So she thought of calling out to her husband by the thought: “Papa, feel my pain. Come back right away. I can’t stand the pain.” She kept repeating the message mentally.

Her husband at that moment suddenly felt a strong urge to go home immediately. When he reached home, he found his wife on the floor in great pain and brought her to the hospital.

Sharp pain in her chest

An American housewife was cooking lunch at 1 p.m. Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her chest, as if something had struck her, and she fell to the floor.

The next day, she received the news from the US Army that her son was killed by a bullet to his chest in Vietnam. The son communicated telepathically to his mother what happened to him. The bullet struck him at exactly 1 p.m. US time.

I forgot to tell you

On many occasions, I had come home with a food item my wife wanted me to bring home but never told me about beforehand. She would go like this: “Oh, I forgot to tell you to buy a loaf of bread (or eggs) on your way home.” And I would hand the item to her.

That must be Uncle Pepe

The telephone rings at home and you say, “That must be Uncle Pepe calling.” But that uncle of yours has not called your house for 10 years.

Levels of Telepathy

Generally, most teaching institutes follow the following criteria for teaching telepathy:

  • Basic Level: Users can sense minds from feet/meters away. They can sense consciously generated thoughts.
  • Advanced Level: Users can sense minds from a community scale. The user can sense subconscious memories and thoughts.
  • Expert Level: The user can sense minds from kilometers to a continental scale. They can manipulate the thoughts and feelings of every individual within such a distance.
  • Master Level: Users can sense minds on a planetary scale, every being across a planet and even nearby worlds. They can manipulate the functions of the mind.
  • Ultimate Level: They can sense minds on a galactic level. The user can manipulate the mind and everything related to it.
  • Absolute Level: Users can sense minds on a universal scale or even beyond. They can manipulate everything that makes up an individual.

What are the limitations of Telepathy?

  • Does not work on mindless beings such as corpses, animated objects, robots, etc.
  • Cannot work on users of Psychic Shield, Psychic Immunity, or Indomitable Will.
  • May be limited to a certain range to work, including touch only.
  • May be limited to a certain number of targets at a time.
  • Can be constantly active and have to constantly hear thoughts.
  • Since the user constantly hears thoughts, this power becomes ineffective in large crowds.
  • May get overwhelmed by too many thoughts.
  • May be limited to the thoughts which the target is currently thinking.
  • Can be limited to reading either thoughts or memories.
  • May not be able to read impulsive actions.
  • Users of Divided Mind may be hard to process due to multiple patterns of mind.
  • Some minds may be overwhelming to the user.
  • May not understand information’s perceived.
  • Can be hijacked and overpowered by higher users.
  • May require concentration.

Benefits of Telepathy

According to Donnelly, you start to see larger patterns in your life the minute you begin to use telepathy. “You begin to understand that things happen with and for you, not to you,” says Donnelly. “Things start to be part of a beautiful tapestry, even the hard stuff.”

“Instead of perceiving life as a string of random things that happen by chance, you begin to take other people’s actions less personally and realize that we are actually moving in concert with each other, the Earth, and the stars,” she adds. “It is a gift and a form of communication that will help you stay calm and focused as we move forward in these externally chaotic times.”

Mystic Michaela says telepathy is a great tool between friends and partners. For example, maybe you haven’t heard from a friend in a while but instead of assuming she’s mad at you, you send her a message to let her know that you are thinking about her and ask if she can connect with you when she’s ready.

“It’s nice to have a connection with someone who immediately understands where you are emotional, why you may be not returning texts today, or what is going on with you without you ever having to say an actual word,” she says. “You can feel them in your space, speaking to you and comforting you. And the more connected your friendships and relationships are, the more you can confirm this with one another when you do get together for a regular conversation.”

Negative effects of Telepathy

As for the cons, both Donnelly and Mystic Michaela say it can be overwhelming to receive and give so much information. “You need to be aware of your own boundaries and other people’s boundaries,” says Donnelly. “It is never okay to violate anyone’s free will, and as tempting as it may be, being nosey is also uncool. Not to say you won’t get information that you are not expecting, but it’s more about moving through the psychic space with integrity.”

On the flip side, according to Mystic Michaela, there may be times when you don’t want the telepathic messages someone is sending you. “Unfortunately toxic people can be amazing at latching onto our energy and manipulating our psychic bonds to negatively communicate to with us. So if you are in a bad state, Mystic Michaela says we may get confused or feel guilty and find a reason why you should communicate with them again. “It’s important to be aware of telepathy in ourselves and others so that we can control the links and bonds that attach themselves to us,” she adds.

While learning how to use telepathy might take some time, keep practicing—and maybe one day your partner will bring home your favorite snack without you needing to drop a hint.
